This is an organized ministry of service where we seek to fulfill needs within the congregation or the local community, striving to share the heart of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:25-37.
We use this time to be good neighbors in sharing the love of Christ. We make visits to the sick, write letters of encouragement, do physical labor in areas where it is needed, plan outreach, have sewing and scrapbooking classes, and engage in many other service-related activities.
Other Areas of Local Ministry
There are several members, including our minister that have scheduled times at the new Daleville YMCA. They can often be found involved in an “open to everyone” bible discussion in front of the fireplace.
We also have members who minister to widows/widowers in the congregation. Other members check on and/or visit the home bound, the sick and in hospital.
Many of the men get together for breakfast at a local restaurant at least once each quarter. This is designed not only as a time of fellowship with each other, but also a time we can invite friends outside the church to join us.
